Respond to a Meeting Request in Outlook Web App (OWA)

When you have been invited to a meeting, you will receive an e-mail message that offers these choices:

  • Accept: Outlook Web App automatically adds the meeting to your schedule and sends an e-mail notification to the meeting organizer.

  • Tentative: The meeting's automatically added to your schedule. An e-mail notification is sent to the meeting organizer.

  • Decline: Outlook sends a message to the meeting organizer to convey the bad news. It is considered good etiquette to add a business reason to explain why you're missing a meeting.

To respond to an invitation

If you do not send your response back to the organizer, they will not be able to track your response. In other words, it will appear as though you have not responded, even though you had accepted or declined the meeting request.
  1. Log into Outlook Web App.
  2. Open the e-mail or calendar invitation.
  3. Click on the desired response.
