Issues Accessing print.xavier.edu on an Apple Silicon Mac

Issue

Unable to sign into print.xavier.edu from a Mac device based on the "Apple Silicon" architecture.

Cause

We have identified this issue to be caused by a feature in macOS that is designed to prevent cross network tracking by using a virtual mac address. This needs to be disabled on "Apple Silicon" based Macs to properly access print.xavier.edu.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Open the Apple menu by clicking the Apple logo at the top left of your screen, then click "System Settings" or "System Preferences" depending on your macOS version.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

  3. Click the details button to the right. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  4. Ensure the option "Limit IP address tracking" is set to off. Then hit "OK" to save the change. Note: It will ask you to provide a password, this is your Mac login and NOT your Xavier account.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  5. Done! You should now be able to successfully log in to print.xavier.edu/user.
