Editing Outlook Shared Calendar Permissions


This article explains how to adjust permissions on a shared calendar in Outlook.


  1. Right-click on the calendar you want to share and click on Properties.

  1. In the pop-up window, click on the Permissions tab.

  1. Click on the Add button.

  1. Type in the last name of the user you would like to add, click on his or her name, click Add, then click OK.

  1. Set the Permission Level based on the permissions you would like the user to have (such as Editor).

  1. Click OK.
  1. Once that has been completed, contact the user you added and have him/her follow these directions:
    1. Right-click on Other Calendars, select Add Calendar, and click the Open Shared Calendar option.

  1. In the window that appears, have him or her type in the name of the calendar.

  1. Click OK.
  2. The calendar will then populate in their Outlook client.
