Xavierwireless setup refuses to run on Windows 10

Summary

Certain versions of Windows come with "S mode" which prevents running apps from outside the Microsoft Windows App Store. Turning off S Mode will allow the installer to run.

Issue

When running the SecureW2 setup file for xavierwireless, the following error message appears:

For security and performance, this mode of Windows only runs verified apps from the Store.

Cause

Certain Windows laptops and Surface devices ship to consumers running in "S mode", preventing Windows from installing any apps that do not originate from the Windows App Store.

Resolution

To allow the installer to run, you will need to turn off "S Mode". See this Microsoft Support article for details.
