Using Airmedia for Wireless Display

Crestron AirMedia allows wireless presentation from most devices, including iOS, Android, and Mac/PC laptops. Up to 32 users may connect simultaneously; up to 4 users may display on the same presentation screen (also referred to as "Quad View").

Portable clients are available for Mac and Windows. iOS and Android clients are available from their respective App Stores. Be aware that on mobile devices, only display of photo galleries and local documents are supported.

Setup instructions

  1. In the classroom or conference room you are using, select “AirMedia” as your display source.
  2. Connect your device to the "xavierwireless" access point (guests can access Airmedia by connecting to "xavierguest").
  3. Open a web browser and go to http://www.xavier.edu/am.
  4. Download and install the appropriate AirMedia client for your device's operating system.

Connecting with Mac and Windows

The AirMedia guest client is portable -- once you download it, you can store the client wherever you wish. We recommend keeping it on the desktop.

  1. Open the AirMedia guest client.
  2. You will receive a warning stating no devices were found. Ignore it and click OK.
  3. Enter the IP address and Code listed in the top corners of the AirMedia splash screen. The code is randomized to prevent abuse.
  4. Click Connect.
  5. Use the Play, Pause, and Stop buttons to control sharing your screen:
    • Clicking  selects your device as the presentation source, sending whatever is on your screen to the display.
    • Click  to freeze the current screen image on the display.
    • Click  to stop displaying your device altogether.
    • Click X to quit the app completely.
    • Click the  icon to display additional options, including quad view and remote view. These features are covered under the "Related Articles" section of this KB article.
