Configuring a Panasonic Projector for Crestron Control

Follow these steps to setup a Panasonic projector. These steps assume the projector has been mounted and has a functional DM or network connection.

  1. Using a Panasonic remote or the control buttons on the projector select Menu >> Network.


     
  2. Select Network Control.


     
  3. Toggle CRESTRON RoomView, and WEB CONTROL to ON then select STORE


     
  4. Select Menu >>Network Setup.
  5. Fill in blanks for IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway.

     

     
    • IP address of projector is located on the shared folder R:\Technology Support\Shared\Classroom Technology\Xavier University\IP allocations.
    • Subnet Mask will always be 255.255.255.0.
    • Default Gateway is the first 3 octets of the projector address then 254. For example ###.###.###.254.
    • Once complete, select >> Store.
       
  6. Launch a web browser and type in the IP address of the projector.
  7. Login to the projector u:admin1, p: panasonic.
  8. The Crestron Control app on the projector runs on Flash, which will not work.  Crestron has released an app that replaces the Flash app.  Found here: R:\Technology Support\Shared\Classroom Technology\Panasonic Crestron app replacement\Crestron Connected Setup (1).zip

  10. Open the CrestronConnectedSetup.c3p file.
  11. Click on Options > Host settings
  12. Once connected the "CNX Connection Disconnected" banner will disappear.
  13. Insert the IP address of the Projector and "03" in the IP ID field.  This will pull CURRENT settings from the projector.  Click Connect and the fields will populate with settings from the projector.


     
  14. Fill in the Control System information.
    • IP Address (Control Processor)
    • IP ID (Projector) 
    • Port (Projector)


       
  15. When the fields are complete, press Enter and the settings will be sent to the projector.  NOTE: There is no verification in the app that the settings have been applied. Verify by trying the projector controls on the touchpanel.
  16. In order to fill in the Control System information, you will need to launch the "System Info" tool from Crestron ToolBox to retrieve the information needed. Launch Crestron ToolBox. 
  17. In Toolbox, go to Tools menu >> System Info.


     
  18. From the Address Book pulldown menu, select the relevant control processor.

     
  19. The System Info page contains the items of information needed to complete Step 6 above:
    • The IP Address of the Processor is located in the Ethernet box.
    • The Projector IP ID and Port located are located in  IP Table box. 


       
  20. The projector is now connected to the internal network and reachable from a web browser via the projector IP address. The projector is also able to be controlled by the control processor. To test this in Toolbox, open System Info for the processor and look at the IP table. It should be listed as "Online".
