Changing or Setting Default Sign-In Method for Multifactor Authentication (MFA)


You can easily choose a preferred sign-in method within your Office365 account preferences.


After enrolling in Microsoft Authenticator, you may desire to change your default sign in method. To do so:

  1. Go to
  2. Login with your Xavier credentials.
  3. Click the Security Info tile
  4. Click on Change.

  5. Choose your preferred login method from the pull down menu. If you only have one choice available, this means you must first add additional methods.
  6. Click the Confirm button.
