Effective 2016, Microsoft no longer provides updates to the client-side junk mail filters used by in all versions of Microsoft Outlook.
As a result, the effectiveness of Microsoft Outlook's built-in junk mail filtering will diminish over time.
It is therefore recommended that you set up junk mail filters within Outlook Web Access (OWA), which already uses server side filtering.
