A/V Cable Connections

Tags classroom
Current Xavier classroom builds follow the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) concept instituted by the Alter Hall redesign of 2015.  Most Xavier classrooms have at least two forms of A/V cabling provided via lecterns or wall jacks.  As of 2017, all classroom refreshes and new builds omit VGA in favor of Solstice wireless display technology. Likewise, those with USB-C enabled devices should connect using Solstice or a purchased adapter where applicable.

If using a room that does not include Solstice wireless display, it is important to be able to identify which AV cable is appropriate for your device.
Consult the following chart to determine which cable(s) will work with your laptop.

VGA HDMI mini DisplayPort
