Accessing SpectrumU Streaming Service

What is SpectrumU?

SpectrumU TV is a video streaming service that delivers live TV with news, sports and entertainment in addition to on-demand television shows and movies to iOS and Android mobile devices, tablets, laptops, desktops and Roku devices over an existing campus network.

Supported Devices

The following devices and OS version numbers are currently supported:

  • Android smartphones and tablets running Android 4.2 or above
  • iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 8 or above
  • Kindle Fire except for the 1st generation model
  • Mac: Safari 7 or higher, Firefox 45 or higher or Chrome 43 or higher
  • PC: IE 11, Chrome 43 or higher, Firefox 45 or higher or MS Edge 12 or higher
  • Roku: All second generation players and TVs

Accessing SpectrumU

SpectrumU can be accessed by the following methods:

  • WWW: Browse to https://watch.spectrum.net/  and click on University student? Sign into SpectrumU
  • Mobile devices: Download and run the SpectrumU app from your device's app store.
  • Roku and Streaming Devices: Install the SpectrumTV app.

Troubleshooting/tips

Login Prompts

No login is required. If you are prompted for a login, one of the following applies:

  • You are accessing SpectrumU from a non-Xavier network. In order to load, the device used must be connected to xavierwireless or xmisc.

  • You are using the wrong app. The Spectrum TV app also offered in appstores  is separate from SpectrumU.

  • You are using an unsupported platform. Consult the above list before attempting to connect a device. 

SpectrumU refuses to load in web browser

The browser version of SpectrumU currently relies on Flash Player, which most modern browsers no longer load automatically.
