Internet Explorer Favorites Missing from Windows 10

If you have recently received a new Xavier-issued laptop or desktop with Windows 10, you may have some initial issues locating your bookmarks. Internet Explorer Favorites, if they existed on your Windows 7 profile, are indeed migrated as part of deployment processes.

Note that there is a similarity between the Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer icons:

While these browsers' icons look similar, they do not share the same Favorites folder. Desktop Infrastructure only migrates your previous Favorites to Internet Explorer. If you launch Edge instead, your Favorites will not be there.

To migrate Favorites from Internet Explorer into Microsoft Edge, do the following:

  1. In Edge, click on the  button.
  2. Under the star  tab ,  click on Favorites Settings. Internet Explorer should be checked.
  3. Click the Import button.
